STUDENT'S MEDICAL SCREENING

2024/2025 Academic Year

Health Screening and Procedure



All categories of newly admitted students (undergraduate & postgraduate students), effective 2024/2025 academic year, are expected to undergo a compulsory health screening by the University. This screening comprises Chest X-Ray Examination and General Health Screening, outlined as follows:

Medical Screening Process

1. How To Pay for Your Health Screening

A health screening fee of Three Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHC 350) should be paid using our online payment platform available in the student portal. To pay and book an appointment for your medical screening, log into your student portal and follow the instructions.

2. Service Delivery Order

Services at the X-ray and clinical examination centres will be provided on first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, immediately book your screening appointment after payment through your student portal. This can be done by loging into your student portal, click on Health Services in the navigation pane. Click available dates to view and book any day with available slots. You are entreated to click on the button at the end of your appointment record on the health services page and fill the form that pops up before you visit the screening centre. Students at City and Dungu campuses will attend the clinical and X-ray examination sessions at the UDS Clinic and Imaging Centre (both on the Tamale Campus). Students at the Nyankpala Campus will attend the clinical examination session at the UDS Nyankpala Campus Clinic and the X-ray examination session at the Imaging Centre on the Tamale Campus.

3. Your Convenience Matters

You are permitted to go for both examinations in any order that is convenient to you, but on the same booking date you have made. The X-ray unit is located on the Tamale-Dungu campus (behind the UDS guest house). Clinical examination will be conducted at the UDS Clinics on the Tamale-Dungu campus (behind the NIB Building) and Nyankpala campus (adjacent the Silver Jubilee Building).

4. How to Get Your Health Screening Report

Your health screening report (both clinical and chest X-ray) will uploaded on to your student portal within 1 week from the date you completed the screening. Please, check the status of your appointment record on your portal after screening for Report Uploaded then click the button at the end of the appointment record to view and print your report at your convenience.

5. In case of Incidentals

Should there be any incidental finding that requires further action, the University Health Services will contact you. In the absence of such finding, print out your health status declaration report and show this as evidence to pick up your student ID card.
